The mini laptop computer might well be the type of laptop most of us will be carrying in the future. It is portable, affordable and quite versatile. Just a few years back, most people considered mini laptops as expensive toys or fads. They’re nice to look at but they’re not really functional.
But now, the mini laptop computer is bouncing back from its bad reputation. And the line between full-sized laptops and mini laptops is blurring. Looking at the current models of laptops, it looks like they’re looking more and more like mini laptops.

The biggest advantage of a mini laptop computer is its portability. But in order to achieve portability, these mini laptops had to sacrifice a lot of features. A lot of mini notebooks have poor battery life, low capacity hard drives, slow processors, no optical drives, and very little memory. They’re barely able to perform basic functions and you can only store a few files.
But these problems are being addressed.
Full-sized laptops are getting smaller and smaller. Mini laptop computers are becoming more and more powerful. Battery life for mini laptop computers are improving because of more energy efficient low-voltage processors and smaller, more efficient batteries.
Solid state hard drives are high capacity hard drives that can easily fit in a small space. These solid state hard drives are becoming more and more popular in smaller full sized laptops and more powerful mini laptop computers. These solid state hard drives allow mini laptops to run applications that normally would only be possible with desktops and laptops.
The latest processors to come out in the market are now more powerful yet consume a lot less energy. Since they consume less energy, they also produce less heat, which allows them to be fitted into smaller and smaller laptops. This has made mini laptop computers to run faster and support faster internet speeds.
A lot of mini laptop computers now have RAM comparable to that of regular laptops. However, most of them still don’t have the space to accommodate optical drives. The solution to this problem also allows mini laptops and regular laptops to have more space. By getting an external hard drive, a mini notebook computer gets more space for files and it takes the place of an optical drives. A lot of current laptop models are now geared towards getting rid of their optical drives as more and more people are getting external hard drives.
A mini laptop computer is now becoming a more and more practical choice. You have a laptop that’s ultraportable, powerful, useful and versatile. It’s like having a regular sized laptop the size of an envelope. It’s not hard to imagine a future where all of us will be using these tiny titans.
